President Patty Wong to host Connect Live on equity, diversity, and inclusion

CHICAGO, IL – The °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app ()’s Connect Live series continues in November with a program focused on equity, diversity, and inclusion. The online event will take place Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 1pm CT/11am PT.

Hosted by President Patty Wong, the first President of Chinese American heritage, the November program for Connect Live will feature a conversation facilitated by Dr. Nicole Cooke about equity, diversity, and inclusion through the lens of programs, initiatives, and scholarships that are impactful, meaningful, and actionable. Dr. Cooke, the Augusta Baker Endowed Chair and an Associate Professor at the School of Library and Information Science at the University of South Carolina, will be joined by Ray Pun, President of the Asian Pacific American Librarians Association (AP), and Pambanisha Whaley, Head of User Services at Vassar College Libraries

Conceived of during the pandemic to foster connection and conversation, Connect Live was launched by Immediate Past President Julius C. Jefferson to bring the library community together to discuss issues and challenges. These town hall-inspired dialogues allow for an open discourse with the Executive Board and with fellow library professionals.
