Core Preconference: Core Innovative Learning Spaces: A Tour of Innovative Chicago Area Academic Institutions

CHICAGO—Core: Leadership, Infrastructure, Futures will host the preconference “Core Innovative Learning Spaces: A Tour of Innovative Chicago Area Academic Institutions" on Friday, June 23, 2023, during the 2023 Annual Conference & Exhibition in Chicago, IL. Join Core’s Buildings for College and University Libraries (BCUL) committee as we tour two innovative academic learning spaces, University of Chicago’s Regenstein Library and Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT)’s Kaplan Family Institute for Innovation. Participants in this tour, the price of which includes lunch and transportation, will understand the evolving nature of the role of the academic library as a learning space on college and university campuses and the resultant physical facility implications. Learn the role of architecture and physical space as it relates to fostering creativity and innovation through flexible and technologically advanced learning facilities. Gain knowledge on the role of the academic Library in creating campus hubs for collaboration, instruction, research and support, computing, and data science.
