CHICAGO – Illustrator and author Bryan Collier will deliver the 2023 Children's Literature Lecture Award. The announcement was made today by the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), a division of the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app (), during LibLearnX held virtually from January 21 – 24.

“Collier’s iconic illustrations inspired by his grandmother's quilts, bridge today's readers with their own personal stories, evoking complex emotions that leave a lasting impact on children’s literature.” stated 2023 Children's Literature Lecture Award Committee Chair Gloria Repolesk.

Bryan Collier was chosen to be the 2023 Children’s Literature Lecture Award presenter at the 2022 LibLearnX conference. Raised in Pocomoke, Maryland, Collier developed a unique artistic style utilizing watercolors and collage which earned him a scholarship to attend Pratt Institute. Collier has illustrated over 30 picture books and is the recipient of multiple awards, including the Coretta Scott King Illustrator Awards, four Caldecott Honors, and Ezra Jack Keats New Illustrator Award.
