CHICAGO — The °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app () opened today for its conference taking place virtually Jan. 21 – 24, 2022. Built from the ground up based on years of research, exploration, feedback from members, industry partners, and event planning experts, LibLearnX is intentionally designed to offer an interactive learning experience for library professionals. Through experiential learning, Members will engage with subject matter experts, peers, and leaders to collectively strategize immediately actionable solutions and gather insights to transform libraries of all types.

The four-day conference will feature highly engaging content, real-time learning, and networking activities; as well as opportunities for members, student members, and international members, not to listen to the conversation but contribute and drive outcomes. With thoughtfully designed tracks, LibLearnX emphasizes quality over quantity; attendees can expect a manageable, intimate, and thoroughly invigorating event.

The LLX Marketplace will host 100+ exhibitors; the LLX Theater, with author presentations; and the Ideas Xchange, which offers peer-to-peer conversations about the topics that matter most to the library community. The space is not your typical virtual exhibit hall: it’s designed for creative collaboration and interactive learning. Attendees can network with exhibitors and publishers who will be showcasing new titles, engaging authors, leading technologies, and core services of interest for Members.

Additional learning features include ShopTalks, Learning Labs, and Accelerators; these formats and instructional methods give attendees control in setting priorities and choosing the right content, materials, and approaches that match their learning styles and objectives. Librarians from across the country will present more than 120 education sessions in a wide variety of subject matter topics, including Books and Authors; Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion; Career Development & Leadership; Community Outreach & Partnerships; Digital Equity; Mental Health, Technology Innovation; and more.

Attendees will come together to celebrate the I Love My Librarian Award, the annual contest that invites library users to recognize the accomplishments of exceptional public, school, college, community college or university librarians; the Books & Media Awards, celebrating the year’s best in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, audiobook narration, and reference materials – including the announcement of the Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction, which recognizes the best fiction and nonfiction books for adult readers published in the U.S. in the previous year; and the Youth Media Awards, honoring books, videos, and other outstanding materials for children and young adults. Additional community celebration includes the President’s Evening of Recognition Celebration.
