Gracing the cover is a vibrant poster featuring Varian Johnson’s Twins, illustrated by Shannon Wright. Inspired by the graphic novel series, the and feature twins and best friends Maureen and Francine Carter reading together. In addition to being a twin himself, Varian Johnson was inspired to write Twins by his daughters, who love graphic novels but struggled to find ones where they could see Black girls like themselves as stars of the story.
