PLA announces webinars on health insurance education, measuring libraries' impact

CHICAGO – Today, the Public Library Association (PLA) announced two free webinars to take place in November.

The first, , will be held Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 1–2 p.m. Central Time. This webinar will cover how public libraries can build awareness about health insurance and educate patrons who lack coverage. Participants will learn about PLA’s initiative, with tips and tools to help libraries start or increase their efforts to educate and build awareness. These efforts will help reach the uninsured — many of whom are people of color — and increase health insurance literacy for better health outcomes. .

The second, , will be held Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 1–2 p.m. Central Time. This webinar is intended for users of PLA’s , a free online toolkit designed to help public libraries understand and share the impact of their programs and services. Participants will learn how their peers have used the results of Project Outcome surveys to guide programming, strategic planning, communications, advocacy, and funding decisions. .

Both webinars are offered free of charge, but registration is required and space is limited.
