CHICAGO – The Center for the Future of Libraries is .

Sponsored by the , the Symposium features three days – Saturday, Sunday, and Monday – exploring the near-term trends already inspiring innovation in academic, public, school, and special libraries and the longer-term trends that will help us adapt to the needs of our communities.

In addition to plenary sessions featuring civic, social, and education innovators, the Symposium will include a full schedule of concurrent sessions. These concurrent sessions will provide attendees with an opportunity to share some of the innovative work they are currently exploring in their libraries and to engage with outside innovators or experts.

Individuals interested in will be asked to provide a session title, description, preferred session times, and participants' contact information. First review of proposals will begin August 15th - priority placement will be given to those proposals received by the first review date.

The featured over 35 educational sessions exploring coding in libraries, refugee services, blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, the opioid epidemic, digital memory projects, virtual reality, library fine policies, the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program, linked data, generational leadership changes, workforce development, and sustainability.

Proposals will be reviewed by members of the Center for the Future of Libraries Advisory Group.
