Three outstanding authors to speak at PLA 2018 Conference luncheons

CHICAGO -- The Public Library Association (PLA) has announced the special guest speakers for the author luncheons at the , taking place March 20-24 in Philadelphia, Penn. Offered biennially, the PLA Conference is the premier event for public libraries, drawing thousands of librarians, library support staff, trustees, friends and library vendors from across the country and around the world.

On Thursday, March 22, PLA will offer a luncheon with , the author of six provocative books—including his newest, When: The Scientific Secrets of Perfect Timing. Pink's other books include the long-running New York Times bestseller A Whole New Mind and the #1 New York Timesbestsellers Drive and To Sell is Human.

The luncheon on Friday, March 23, will feature two outstanding authors, . De la Peña is the author of Last Stop on Market Street, which won the Newbery Medal and was chosen for a Caldecott Honor. Woodson won a 2014 National Book Award for her New York Times best-selling memoir Brown Girl Dreaming, which also received the Coretta Scott King Award, a Newbery Honor Award, the NAACP Image Award, and the Sibert Honor Award.

Both author luncheons will take place 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time. These events require a separate , and tickets may be purchased for $60 per luncheon.
