Tim Wu to share Big Ideas at PLA 2018 Conference

CHICAGO -- Author, policy advocate, and director of Columbia University's Poliak Center for the Study of First Amendment Issues Tim Wu has been added to the slate of speakers at the , the Public Library Association announced today. He will be the speaker for the . Wu’s best known work is the development of Net Neutrality theory, but he also writes about private power, free speech, copyright, and antitrust.

The Big Ideas Series kicks off each morning of the conference with a big idea with the potential to impact and empower the way library professional think, act, and work. Other Big Ideas speakers include author , best known for her memoir Eat, Pray, Love, (Thursday, Mar. 22) and trail-blazing corporate executive (Friday, Mar. 23).

Offered biennially, the PLA Conference is the premier event for public libraries, drawing thousands of librarians, library support staff, trustees, friends and library vendors from across the country and around the world.
