CHICAGO — The deadline for prospective speakers to submit session proposals for the Public Library Association is almost here. The 2018 Conference, to be held March 20-24 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, will challenge its attendees to Imagine the Possibilities. Preconference and program proposals must be submitted before 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, April 14, 2017.

Offered biennially, the PLA Conference has a reputation for excellence. The conference includes more than 100 top-quality continuing education programs, numerous social events and networking opportunities and a bustling exhibits hall. PLA welcomes all proposals designed to be educational, thought-provoking and engaging for public library professionals.

PLA 2018 will feature the following two session formats:

  2. Program sessions are 60-minute sessions that can feature a single speaker or a panel of speakers, or can be a guided audience discussion or activity. Attendance can vary from 50 to 500 people.
