CHICAGO — The Public Library Association (PLA) encourages you to share your gifts and talents with your fellow colleagues at the . Join the fun by participating in PLA’s first-ever mini How-To Festival, which will be held during the .

A How-To Festival is a cooperative learning experience, teaching practical, hands-on skills that can be learned in short sessions. Twenty-minute demonstrations will be presented as a fun way for attendees to experience a taste of the wildly successful How-to Festival that attracts 4,000 individuals to the Louisville (Ky.) Free Public Library every May.

Some examples of the engaging how-to sessions have been: how to create a green office, how to dance the two-step, how to do container gardening, how to create balloon animals, how to brew beer, how to bake gluten free, how to change an electrical outlet, how to needlepoint, how to quilt, how to play poker, and how to use Instagram.

Share your talents and imagination with your colleagues. A total of fourteen 20-minute sessions will take place over three days during these times:

• Wednesday, April 6, 4:00–6:30 PM
• Thursday, April 7, 9:45–10:30 AM and 3:15–4:00 PM
• Friday, April 8, 9:45–10:30 AM and 3:15–4:00 PM

Presenters will be responsible for bringing their own presentation materials. If your proposal is approved, you will be contacted by Wednesday, February 10, 2016.
