Edward Swanson is recognized for his contributions to the development and interpretation of cataloging practices and as a trainer of catalogers throughout a long and distinguished career. He served on professional cataloging committees at the state, national and international levels, including serving as chair of the Committee on Cataloging: Description and Access and as a member of the Board of Directors of ALCTS.
