Mildred D. Taylor
Taylor鈥檚 award-winning works include 鈥淩oll of Thunder, Hear My Cry鈥, which won the 1977 Newbery Medal and the Coretta Scott King Honor Award; 鈥淭he Friendship,鈥 鈥淩oad to Memphis,鈥 and 鈥淭he Land鈥, all recipients of the Coretta Scott King Award. In addition to numerous awards for individual books, Mildred Taylor is the 2020 recipient of the Coretta Scott King - Virginia Hamilton Award for Lifetime Achievement.
