Carol Pitts Diedrichs is the ultimate practitioner/scholar. She has contributed extensively to the profession through her service to ALCTS, including a term as ALCTS President, along with her writing, speaking, editing, and consulting on acquisitions, serials, electronic resources, preservation, collection development, technical services organization and scholarly communication. She is known as a generous mentor and strong collaborator who brings a contagious joy to every activity. A visionary, she was instrumental in the early founding of OhioLINK and has significantly influenced best practice in the rapidly changing fields of collections and acquisitions. An outstanding professional, she is a worthy recipient of an award honoring the extraordinary service of Ross Atkinson.
