About

The collaboration among the member libraries and their staff, along with vendors and the Albertan government, have created a substantial increase in online resources, as a supplement to the physical collections, for both rural and urban patrons. TAL Online’s development has created an increase in WorldCat and other OCLC resources for libraries across Alberta, enhancing collection development efforts, while aiding the sharing of resources. The award jury was impressed by TAL Online’s broadly successful collaborative effort in creating TAL Online, which now provides access to resources, not only to the 49 consortium libraries, but to more than 300 public, postsecondary and special libraries in Alberta.
