Which types of libraries are eligible?

This exhibition tour is open to public libraries in the United States. Other non-public library organizations, including academic, community college, school and special libraries, are not eligible to apply. Individuals and federal entities are not eligible to apply. Late, incomplete and ineligible applications will not be reviewed.

When is the application deadline?

Applications will be accepted between December 17, 2018, and February 8, 2019. Applications must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time on February 8, 2019. Late or incomplete applications, and applications from ineligible institutions, will not be reviewed. Applications and support materials may not be submitted by mail or e-mail.

Will only successful applicants receive notification about the outcome of the application?

No. All applicants will be notified by , regardless of the outcome of their applications. Libraries will be notified via e-mail by March 26, 2019. If your library has not received notification by the stated date, please contact at 312-280-5045 or publicprograms@ala.org.

Is attendance at the orientation session required?

Yes. The library project director named in your application must attend the June 2019 orientation session in Washington, D.C., held in conjunction with ’s 2019 Annual Conference. Travel and lodging costs will be covered by . Specific information on how to make travel reservations will be emailed directly to project directors.

Could you give examples of non-profit presenters not sponsored by a financial service company?

Social service agencies, federal reserve branch banks, municipal government agencies, higher education institutions, public schools, cooperative extension service agencies, consumer credit counseling services, senior centers and youth-serving organizations, such as the YWCA, are examples of suitable partners.
