In lieu of a program at
’s annual conference in June 2005, the
NMRT Membership Meeting and Program Committee is conducting monthly interviews with various leaders in the library profession, and will post transcripts of the interviews on the
NMRT listserv. Interviews begin in November and end in May, allowing for a total of eight interviews with library professionals for the current academic year. (There will be two for November, given the committee chair’s late start.)

“Leaders” are defined as library professionals from academic, public, and special libraries who are currently engaged in providing direction for individuals or groups of people in their workplace, and who are implementing ideas for their library. Such leaders may include librarians in management positions (department heads and library directors), but will also include librarians who engage in leadership endeavors without having a more traditional management role in their library.
