Describe ACRL in three words:

Education, connector, colleagues.

What do you value about ACRL?

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app

I value ACRL for all of the people I have met and the things I have learned. I have gotten so many ideas from ACRL conferences, articles, and colleagues, ideas that have split open my day-to-day work and made me think of my work, career, ideas, and values in new ways. ACRL's Assessment in Action program has been one of the most influential experiences of my career. It has allowed me to work to translate the work libraries do into a value that the institutions I have worked for understand.

What do you as an academic librarian contribute to your campus?

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app

I connect people to ideas and I connect people to other people. I navigate systems to provide the best possible services and collections to our community.

In your own words

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app

As academic librarians we have a unique view of a our institutions. We see across departments, we see diverse points of view because of our varied patrons, we see the nuts and bolts of assignment requirements, and we see and share information across institutions. I would argue we have the best point of view to fully understand our institutions. We should feel confident knowing we have a unique perspective at our institutions of higher education, and we should share our experiences with people outside the library to innovate and create change that supports students, faculty, staff, and the institutions we serve.
