Describe ACRL in three words:

Opportunity, leadership, professionalism.

What do you value about ACRL?

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app

What I most value about ACRL is the opportunity of getting involved with the profession and networking with other colleagues. My first academic dean instilled in me the importance of involvement. Her mentorship encouraged me to get involved in professional committee work at the state and national levels.

What do you as an academic librarian contribute to your campus?

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app

I was recently appointed as the Interim Executive Director of the Library. In this position, I am actively communicating with everyone to fully understand what needs to be accomplished to move the Library forward. I am learning a lot and enjoying it. The direction that the library takes will be driven by the priorities of the campus community, its students, faculty, and staff.

In your own words

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app

I am a lifelong learner. Libraries and librarianship are evolving as we define and adapt to our future roles. We must continue to embrace change in our profession. Networking with colleagues, developing new skills, expanding our expertise, and accepting challenges are essential. My personal focus is mindfulness and well-being which comes from an appreciation and protection of nature. The WCC Seed Library and the WCC Bee Campus USA designation are two successful initiatives that I have started.
