Describe ACRL in three words:

Supportive, engaging, research.

What do you value about ACRL?

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app

I value the diversity and amount of research published and presented by academic librarians through ACRL. I also appreciate the many professional development opportunities offered, such as webinars and conferences. I feel like I have been able to truly connect to and learn from a diverse group of academic librarians across the nation, particularly through the ACRL Distance Learning Section (DLS).

What do you as an academic librarian contribute to your campus?

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app

As the Online Learning Librarian, I am always looking for ways to engage students and researchers virtually, through programming, research competitions, asynchronous and synchronous information literacy instruction, webinars, and consultations.

In your own words

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app

I have had a variety of different jobs throughout my career in academics, but working with online and distance students is where I truly found my place as a librarian because it combines many things I love: creating and managing online learning objects, helping students and faculty, and working with many different types of librarians and higher education faculty, staff, and administrators. I am also a mom to two daughters, and having them now see my work as a librarian during COVID 19 has brought joy and challenges that I will always remember.
