Before I started my program at McGill University, I worked in the Kislak Center for Special Collections, Rare Books and Manuscripts at the University of Pennsylvania. A couple of my colleagues suggested ACRL to me when I told them of my interest in academic librarianship. Recently, we started an student chapter at McGill University’s School of Information Studies, which served as a reminder for me to join ACRL.

As an aspiring academic librarian, it is incredibly important for me to stay informed of the current issues and conversations surrounding academic and research libraries. Navigating the ever-changing worlds of higher education and libraries requires knowledge and expertise, which is why I look forward to connecting with a community of dedicated and passionate professionals. My overarching goal is to provide the best quality library services, especially regarding instruction and information literacy. The wealth of learning and professional development opportunities offered by ACRL will help me work toward this goal throughout my career.

I hope to encourage collaboration with faculty, ease library anxieties, and support the learning and research needs of my community. Academic libraries are at the center of intellectual life on our campuses. I look forward to working for an organization dedicated to fostering a community of lifelong learners.
