Describe ACRL in three words:

Learning, inspiration, community.

What do you value about ACRL?

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app

Belonging to ACRL has helped me keep up with new directions, knowledge, and discussions in our profession. It is a great place to connect with colleagues across the country. I use the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education regularly in my work, and appreciate its nuanced and thoughtful approach to teaching information literacy.

What do you as an academic librarian contribute to your campus?

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app

As the Instructional Technologies Librarian, I collaborate with our Virtual Campus Center to support teaching faculty's use of library resources and open educational resources (OER) in online instruction. My favorite project so far has been developing a video-based online digital badging course to extend the library’s research instruction program to online and remote classes. I engage in my campus community in many ways, serving as the library representative to the Teaching and Creativity Center Committee, participating in campus DEI initiatives, and leading a monthly reflective practice group for faculty and staff.

In your own words

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app

Academic librarianship is an exciting, evolving, versatile field. I think librarians have a unique opportunity to shape their campus communities in meaningful ways. This includes embracing technology, collaborating across departments, and building more inclusive and equitable institutions. I try to bring this perspective to work every day, and connecting with talented colleagues who share these goals is one of my favorite parts of being in this profession.
